It's been roughly over a year that suddenly I got a gushing urge to plunge into drawing , sketching and painting. At 6 i was nervous about it and literally used to practise drawing before the drawing exam in primary school days.My handwriting was a mess too and teachers complained to my parents about my unsteady and illegible writing.
Then in high school the writing took better shape. Drawing got left behind until a year ago when as I surfed through some youtube tutorials. It looked inviting enough for me to visit the art supplies store and pick up up some materials. For a year I sketched with the learning i received form awesome internet videos that make difficult stuff look so simple. I figured out that i lacked some techniques so I joined an art school in summer this year. The teacher saw I had my fundamentals clear so did not bother to mentor me further. Disappointed, I quit the course half way.
I practised more sketching at home and filled nearly two sketchbooks of doodling and practice drawings. I even purchased a couple of books authored by renowned Indian painters.I went on to add and follow professional artists and keenly observed their uploads on Facebook. From Pinterest ( Site) I got a wide range of samples and illustrations of my interest.
I am happy with myself now ... I am not yet professional at drawing and painting but my journey has long begun. Whatever I sketch, I upload it on Facebook and feel happy with the LIKES I receive.Someone commented that I should try holding a small exhibition, but I feel I'm not ready for it yet.
I framed a few of my paintings and presented it to friends on their birthdays. It gave me an exhilarated feeling of accomplishment.
